Budget Basics

author unknown

In a world of budgets, let's take a ride,
And learn the basics, side by side.
From saving our coins to spending them wise,
Let's embark on our budgeting guise!

First, let's talk about needs and wants,
Understanding them is where it all fronts.
Needs are things we truly require,
Like food and shelter, they light our fire.

But wants are different, they're things we desire,
Like toys and treats that make us aspire.
While wants are nice, they're not a must,
Understanding this is budgeting trust.

Next, let's set a goal, a target to meet,
Aiming for something that's oh so sweet.
Whether it's saving for a toy or a trip,
Having a goal gives our budget a grip.

Now, let's track our spending, every last cent,
Knowing where it goes is money well spent.
With a list or a chart, let's make it clear,
Tracking our spending, we'll have no fear.

Then, let's make a plan, oh so wise,
Dividing our money to reach the skies.
Setting some aside for saving, it's true,
And some for spending, on things we pursue.

But let's remember, as we journey through,
Budgeting is about more than a few.
It's about making choices, wise and true,
And learning to manage money, through and through.

So let's embrace budget basics, let's make it clear,
From saving to spending, it's nothing to fear.
For in understanding money, we'll find,
Financial literacy, a treasure to bind!
